I came in from outside, only to welcomed by the screams of my cousin and his mother arguing (again) about some stupid thing. Suddenly, “I HATE YOU!” escapes from my cousins’ mouth, and he runs past me up to his bedroom. I wait a few minutes, and then follow. As I walk into his room, I see he is facing the mirror with is back to me. That’s when things got worse.
I walk into the room, asking if he is all right. I get about 3 feet from him when it happens.
On March 15th, 2000, at 8:27 pm, my cousin, Jarod Nathan Rimbaud committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth with a 9mm Beretta.
At 9:03, I finally wiped his brains off my shirt and face.
September 4, 2005, 3:12 am, I awake from one of the most disturbing dreams I have ever had. I am lost in the woods, scared to death, running. I see a porch light up ahead, so I run for it. I don’t recognize the house, but I see a black raven perched outside the upstairs bedroom window. (for those of you who know Celtic mythology, you know this is a very bad omen). Suddenly, I realize its Jarod’s house, and the raven is outside his window. I charge into the house, up the stairs, and to his room. There is someone on the bed, but I can’t tell who, because they are under the covers. I walk over to the bed, rip back the covers, and the person I see staring back at me is. . . me.
I have not been able to think straight since. I have been trying to figure out what all this means. On a whim, I called his mom. She didn’t answer. I called around, and got a hold of her neighbor. This is when I find out that Jarod’s mom, my aunt, has been missing since last night. She left to visit Jarod’s grave, and never returned. I was also told that when they went to the cemetery to see if she was there, they found a letter on his grave saying “I’ll see ya soon”
. . . . . . .
